FAQ
A pool for every space.
Whether you’re after a sleek in-ground design or a versatile above-ground option, here are the questions we hear most.
About our pools
What makes Plunge Pool Warehouse different?+
A freestanding, premium-quality, lightweight fibreglass plunge pool for installation on almost any site. A simplified, plug-and-play solution that gives you more control over your project and budget. Pools come pre-plumbed with premium equipment and are built for easy installation, whether you go DIY or work with your own builder.
Who manufactures our pools?+
Proudly Australian-made by one of the country’s most established fibreglass pool manufacturers, with nearly 50 years of experience. That means proven quality, durability and long-term performance.
What types of pools do you offer?+
A curated range of six plunge pool shapes, all built with lightweight fibreglass hybrid rib technology. They can be installed freestanding in almost any situation.
What is a “supply-only” plunge pool?+
We deliver the pre-finished fibreglass pool shell to your site and your chosen builder or contractor takes care of installation — a flexible, cost-effective way to get the pool you want on your terms.
Size, specs & options
How deep are your pools?+
Consistent depths, generally between 1.2m and 1.5m depending on the model — ideal for relaxing, cooling off and low-impact exercise.
What is the internal finish?+
A smooth, durable, low-maintenance fibreglass surface. Unlike concrete or tiled pools there are no liners to replace or surfaces to recoat — just keep the water chemistry balanced.
What is the external structure?+
A fibreglass structural system designed to be lightweight yet extremely strong, which is what allows such flexible installation options.
Can I customise the pool?+
To keep things simple and cost-effective we offer a fixed range of shapes and sizes. You can personalise your space with heating, lighting, landscaping, decking and other external finishes.
Can I add heating or jets?+
Yes. Heating systems enable year-round use, and optional features such as spa jets can be incorporated depending on your setup.
Pricing & costs
Is the advertised price fully installed?+
No. Pricing covers the pool shell and standard equipment. Installation and site costs vary with your property and requirements.
What additional costs should I expect?+
Typically: concrete slab or base preparation, electrical works, crane hire (if required), excavation or earthworks, and landscaping, decking and fencing.
How much does a full project cost?+
It depends on site conditions and finishes. We provide helpful estimate guides to give you a clearer picture of overall project costs.
Delivery & access
How is the pool delivered?+
By tilt tray or crane truck, depending on your site access, and lifted into position with a crane or appropriate lifting equipment. You can also collect from our depot by appointment.
Do I need good site access?+
Clear access matters for delivery and installation. Some sites need a crane lift over the house; others are a straight shot with a tilt tray. We review access early and build a plan that works.
How much does a crane cost?+
From a few hundred to several thousand dollars depending on access and lifting needs. Our pools are up to 80% lighter than alternatives — the Courtyard 3 weighs 750kg versus roughly 5,000kg for a comparable concrete plunge pool — saving thousands in freight and crane costs.
Installation & site
Do you install the pools?+
We’re supplier-only, giving you the flexibility to work with your own builder or structural landscaper, or manage the project yourself.
Can I install the pool myself?+
Yes. Many customers project-manage their own installation, and we provide guidance and resources along the way.
Can it go in the ground — or on a slope?+
Both. Pools can be installed freestanding, partially in-ground or fully in-ground. With the right engineering, sloping and elevated sites are fine too — one of the benefits of a super-lightweight freestanding product.
Can the pool support surrounding structures?+
Yes. The structural design allows for decking or cladding, provided the installation guidelines are followed.
What trades will I need?+
For a general above-ground install: a concreter (for the slab), an electrician, and optionally a landscaper or builder depending on your finish.
What’s in the DIY kit
What comes with my pool?+
It arrives plug & play — just add water. Includes pre-installed internal plumbing, a filtration system and pump, and premium equipment neatly mounted beneath the pool.
What do I organise separately?+
Electrical connection by a licensed electrician, site preparation and base/slab, delivery access and crane (if required), and any surrounding landscaping or finishing.
Council & compliance
Do I need council approval?+
Yes — pool approvals are required in Australia, though requirements vary by council. Check with your local authority or private certifier.
Who handles approvals?+
Typically your builder, or you as owner-builder.
Do I need pool fencing?+
Yes. All pools must comply with Australian pool safety regulations, including fencing.
How far from the boundary can it go?+
Setbacks vary by council and site. We can share helpful guides from our engineering partner when we chat.
Heating, use & lifestyle
Can the pool be heated?+
Yes — electric heat pumps and similar systems can be added for year-round enjoyment.
Can I use it as a spa or for cold plunging?+
Absolutely. Many customers use their pools for relaxation, hydrotherapy or cold-water immersion.
Maintenance & running costs
Are plunge pools expensive to maintain?+
No. Their smaller size generally makes them more affordable to maintain than traditional pools.
How often does it need cleaning?+
Regular maintenance, like any pool, but typically quicker and easier thanks to the smaller volume.
Do I need a pool cleaner?+
A robotic cleaner is recommended for convenience and can be purchased separately.
Warranty & support
What warranty do you offer?+
Strong manufacturer warranties backed by five decades of fibreglass pool manufacturing: 25 years structural and 7 years on the interior surface.
Do you support me through the process?+
Yes — guidance, resources and support throughout, to keep it simple and stress-free.
Do you have a showroom?+
Yes: 5/61-67 Cuthbert Drive, Yatala QLD 4207. You can also book in to visit our Tomago factory in Newcastle.
